Mackenzie Millwood’s Experience With the MBSA Puppet Show
I remember when I first heard that the freshman project was a puppet show for elementary schoolers, I wasn’t exactly looking forward to it. It seemed so unusual considering MBSA is a program that is designed to help students explore the health care system. But throughout the process of preparing for the show, I realized how impactful it was on the freshman class. It’s a wonderful opportunity to become close with the new people you’re around. You’re all working together to achieve a common goal, which helps create a better freshman dynamic and teaches you how to work with each other. Another part that I found really fulfilling about the project is that we get to bring joy to young kids, and show them that going to the doctors office doesn’t have to be a scary experience. You get to watch kids' faces light up when the puppets start talking and even show them how simple medical instruments work. Overall, the puppet show is such a fun experience and it builds a great foundation for your freshman year in MBSA.
