NIEHS Field Trip

On October 26th, some of the MBSA juniors got to tour the NIEHS facility. While we were there we heard a few of the staff members speak about their occupations. We heard from people of different backgrounds that were involved in different types of research, such as studies about dust particles in homes and their impacts on asthma, and people that analyzed samples from test subjects.

We also go to look at part of the research labs in the main building, and learned some background on how the NIEHS came to NC, and the historical accomplishments of the center. We also got to talk to some people that were recruiting for internships there and talked about paid and unpaid internships in the labs. To end the trip, we met an Enloe alum who is now employed at the NIEHS and she also talked about internship opportunities under her wing.
