NIEHS Trip

On November 2nd, 2017, we went to the Environmental Health science branch of National Institutes of Health. NIEHS obtains scientific knowledge that promotes individual and public health. Here, we toured the facility and explored the various jobs performed here.

Our tour guide started off by telling us about the history of the institute and how to developed into the place it is today. We went through the main building, where the research labs were located, their MRI building, and ended our tour with a presentation about what the employees there and how they started off. The research here includes studies on smoking, chemicals in plastic, and anything else that could cause harm to society and our environment. The tour was pretty interesting, especially since we got to tour a research facility and meet actual members, its definitely worth looking into in the future.
